Head constable commits suicide

NEW DELHI: Head constable Naresh Panwar who was posted at the police station in Anand Vihar Railway Station in New Delhi committed suicide on Friday.

Panwar was detailed for duty at entry gate pocket AVRS. He was marked absent on Friday at 12.55 am. Later, he reported for duty at 1.50 am.

At 8.26 am on Friday, Ct Rajpal of Railway Protection Force (RPF) intimated that Head Constable Naresh Panwar was lying unconscious on a cemented slab. Blood was pouring from his head and a service pistol was lying on the ground in the booth near the exit gate.

On checking, Panwar was found dead with a gunshot wound in his temple and service pistol 9mm lying near his right.

"He was found in a sitting position. His family has been informed and a crime team from East District was called," said a senior Police officer.
