Gurugram: Hundreds of residents participated in a candle march to lend their support to 21-year-old victim who narrowly escaped a rape attempt. The residents demanded that it was high time the administration must ensure more patrolling in the newer sectors to ensure that such incidents do not take place.
"Safety at the place we live in is of utmost importance. When the safety of our family and loved one is compromised, then protest to show our discomfort is very much essential to draw the attention of lawmakers. Residents of new Gurugram protest on the recent rape attempt case," said Sarita Mukherjee.
A 21 -year-old woman executive has alleged that she was sexually assaulted by a group of men.
The incident occurred around the New Town Heights society of Sector-86. The woman was returning from her work when she was molested by the men. The complainant has also gone to the extent of saying that had she not reacted on time and escaped from the place the situation would have been much worse. Subsequently, the Gurugram police not only registered the case but has also arrested some people involved in the case.
The incident just comes days after two rapes of minors were registered in the city on a single day.
