Gurugram: Additional sessions judge Krishan Kant Sharma's son Dhruv, who was critically injured after being shot at by the judge's security guard 10 days back in Gurugram, died in the early hours on Tuesday. The judge's wife and son were seriously injured on October 13 after being shot from close range by Mahipal, a Haryana Police constable who was posted with the judge for nearly two years.

According to sources, he was declared dead by doctors at about 4 am. Hospital sources said the judge's family had offered to donate Dhruv's eyes, heart, and kidneys. After carrying out all the due processes, the body of Dhruv will be cremated in Hissar where earlier his mother Ritu was also laid to rest. While the judge's wife, Ritu (38), died the same night at Medanta hospital, the 18-year-old Dhruv had been on life support system in the hospital. Dhruv was shot in the head, while Ritu took two bullets in the chest. Police said that the attack was a result of sudden provocation the when Mahipal Singh lost his temper when the judge's wife Ritu and son Dhruv scolded him for being untraceable after they had finished their shopping at the Arcadia Market in Sector 49.
