Greater Noida: The Gautam Buddh Nagar district administration on Tuesday issued a set of children safety guidelines to all private schools of Greater Noida in the wake of rape of a three-and-a-half years old girl in Delhi Public School of Greater Noida on Thursday.
The administration issued directions that the schools must abide by the guidelines issued by the state government, Supreme Court and CBSE/ICSE board, in order to ensure a safe and secure learning environment for students.
In the meeting held with around 500 delegates including the principals and directors of all the schools, district magistrate BN Singh issued a direction that the guidelines be fully implemented by August 5.
"The guidelines have been issued to all schools and if any school did not follow the order or did not submit the report before August 5, they should be ready to face action. Such schools will be marked as unsafe and their names will be published on the official website of the district administration," said Singh.
As per the new guidelines, all the schools are directed to submit an affidavit, undertaken by the principal of the school, on a Rs 100 notarized stamp paper stating that they abide by the rules and safety guidelines issued by CBSE and the state government.
The affidavit will be submitted by August 5 in the office of Inspector of Schools, Gautam Buddh Nagar.
Once the application is submitted, the schools will undergo an inspection by a team formed by the district administration. The team will comprise of officials from district administration and a representative from Parents' association.
"The inspection process will start from August 20. Upon non-compliance of these guidelines, strict actions will be initiated against the schools which may also lead to derecognisition of the school," added Singh.
An official said that the guidelines include installation of cameras covering every corner of the school, close watch on swimming pool and school buses, police verification of class IV employees, separate toilets for girls, boys and the staff and visitors.
