Gurugram: The brazenness of burglars in Gurugram was again at display. In order to steal the cash, around four burglars deracinated the ATM at Wazirabad and carried the machine along with them.
They however were unsuccessful as the locals nearby saw the thieves and raised the alarm.
The daring attempt by the robbers was therefore foiled as the residents of Wazirabad village came to know about the incident and began chasing the robbers. They ultimately had to leave the machine and run away from the area.
The police has registered the case and began their investigations. There has been an increase of thefts being committed by stealing the money from ATM or cloning the cards to carry out their crime.
Taking note of the increase in such acts, the district administration had directed all the ATM's to install the CCTV's in their premises.
"A lot of complaints come to us where people pretending to be employers from big companies in the city dupe people of thousands and lakhs of amount. Most of these criminals fool the victims by providing them lucrative job offers on call, messages and email. The prospect of working for big companies fools most of the people," said a senior official from Cyber crime branch.
