New Delhi: Days after the daring daylight robbery in Keshavpuram in North West district where assailants shot at two employees of a private firm and fled away with around Rs 44 lakh, the Delhi police has arrested four men in this connection. Police said that while investigating the matter they collected all vital clues from the spot including some evidence from the CCTVs.
A team was constituted which later arrested an accused Saddam who disclosed that one Iltiza had provided a tip-off about the movement of cash by two Rajkumar and Tepal from Maya Muniram Hospital in a black colored i20 car. Saddam then shared this information with his friend Sandeep and asked him to arrange suitable manpower for robbing the duo who often collected and moved cash from Maya Muniram Hospital in Pitampura. Thereafter, Sandeep introduced Pawan Kumar and Vinay to Saddam and Saddam introduced his associates Chhota Hunny and Ravi Chauhan to them. Cops then arrested Sandeep, Pawan and Ilteza after they nabbed Saddam. "All of them plotted the incident and executed it on July 30, role of the arrested accused in other similar incidents is also being ascertained. Further, hunt for the remaining accused is on. Police teams have been sent to Goa, Mumbai, Meerut, Hapur and other adjoining areas in search of the remaining accused," said DCP North West Aslam Khan.
The two men were shot at while they were in their i20 car when the accused overtook them in their swift desire at Wazirpur Flyover. Before the duo could understand anything they were shot at by the assailants one in the stomach and one in the shoulder. Both were rushed to the hospital. However, cops soon suspected there could be a role of an insider who passed on the cash movement information to the assailants. All the arrested accused Saddam, Sandeep, Pawan and Ilteza are from Delhi.
