New Delhi: To recreate the sequence of the event in the murder case, Army Major Nikhil Handa will be taken to Meerut where police will ascertain the places where he visited after fleeing from Delhi. Police sources claimed that the accused was taken to some places to get more clues about the case. The police claimed that the accused's family members were questioned on Tuesday to find out whether they were aware of the murder plan. "In Delhi, accused Handa was taken to some places in the South West Delhi as we wanted to know how the murder took place and where the weapon of offence was thrown," said police sources.
One of the accused's friends was also questioned by Delhi Police to find out whether he knew about the plan. The police are investigating the facts and the accused had used WhatsApp to chat with his friend as he wanted some money from him. "We asked him what was the exact chat and whether he knew about the plan," said the police officer.
Sixty policemen were involved in the over five-hour-long operation to arrest Army Major Nikhil Handa, who murdered a colleague's wife in Delhi Cantonment area on Saturday. Cops also checked CCTV footage of more than 50 hotels and guest houses in Meerut. Investigators said that the murder was pre-planned and since his arrest, Handa has not cooperated as he has been misleading them with wrong information.
Delhi Police on Sunday arrested an Indian Army Major from Uttar Pradesh for his involvement in the killing a woman with whom he was obsessed and wanted to marry. The wife of an Indian Army major was found dead on Saturday with her throat slit on a street at Brar Square in South-West Delhi just near the cantonment area.
