New Delhi: In yet another brutal case, a 38-year-old woman was bludgeoned to death allegedly by her husband in the presence of their children on Monday morning in outer Delhi's Mangolpuri. Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer) Rajendra Singh Sagar stated that the accused used the hammer to kill his wife.

The couple had married 18 years ago. They had frequent fights and on Monday morning during a fight, Vinod picked up a hammer and hit her on the head multiple times, the police said. Vinod, an e-rickshaw driver, was addicted to liquor and the couple had frequent fights over it. A senior police officer claimed that in the morning, the couple again picked up a fight
It is suspected that Vinod lost his temper and picked up a hammer to attack his wife. Hearing Savita's cries, her children woke up. The woman was rushed to a hospital where she was declared brought dead.
Police have registered a case and are on the lookout for the accused, they added. The woman's family alleged that on the basis of his wife's complaint about being abused, Vinod had was earlier held by police as a preventive action.
