Gurugram: With a few days left before Diwali arrives, festive rush has begun to clog Gurugram's roads, the impact of which is mostly being felt at Delhi-Jaipur highway.

On the worst days, blockade over thirty minutes are being reported at the highway.

Four intersections of National Highway-8 – namely Shankar Chowk, IFFCO Chowk, Hero Honda Chowk, and Rajiv Chowk – have been witnessing large blockades.

Besides NH-8, complaints of traffic clogs are being reported from Sohna Road, Old Delhi Road, MG Road Golf Course Road and Jharsa Road.

What has made matters worse this time is the poor condition of roads caused due to heavy monsoons showers.

Taking cognisance of the situation, Gurugram Police has also deployed more traffic policemen to manage the situation.

"Driving at rush hour at MG Road can prove to be a nightmare for any commuter. Brokes roads at busy stretches, barricades, and construction only make the matter worse," said Vishal Sharma, a city resident.
