Greater Noida: In an alleged case of child marriage, an 11-year-old girl from Surajpur area of Greater Noida was forced to marry a 35-year-old man in Rabupura area by her father. However, the victim's mother lodged a complaint with the police, leading to the arrest of the girl's father, the groom and the broker on Monday.
According to the police, the arrested persons have been identified as Omkar (girl's father), Devendra (accused husband) and broker Vinod.
"Based on the complaint received from the girl's mother, we have arrested the three accused in connection with the matter and a case under sections 9/10 in the prohibition of child marriage Act has been registered against them," said a senior police officer of Surajpur police station.
