NEW DELHI: Economic Offences Wing of Delhi police has arrested a man named Diwakar Sharma on 6 September for duping flat buyers of residential project Shubhkamna Advert tecHomes. He was the director in the alleged company. The complainant society 'Techomes Flat Buyers Welfare Association' gave a complaint on behalf of 49 members of the society stating that the buyers had purchased flats in the residential project namely "Shubhkamna Aadvert tecHomes" being developed at plot no. GH-05/B, Sector-137, Noida (UP) by the Developer Shubhkamna Buildtech Pvt Ltd on the assurance of giving physical possession of their flats within 36 months from the start of construction which started on February 1, 2011.
The buyers have paid nearly 90 per cent of the total price of their respective flats as per the payment schedule but the builder has stopped the construction all of a sudden.
They also alleged that the builder had started booking of flats before even execution of lease deed and had diverted the funds for his own use.
"It has been found that the accused collected crores of rupees from the buyers. Investigation of the case is in progress," said a senior
police officer.
