Greater Noida: Following the murder of a 50-year-old elderly woman who was strangled to death at her house in Dhoom Manikpur village of Greater Noida, police on Monday arrested her 15-year-son in connection with the incident. Cops said that the juvenile confessed to have committed the crime in a 'fit of rage'.
The incident came to light on early Sunday morning when victim's husband returned home from work and found her dead. She was lying on the cot while the youngest son was also sleeping in the same room. A case was registered under section 302 (punishment for murder) against unidentified persons based on the complaint given by victim's husband but police investigations showed that she was murdered by her youngest son. "During interrogations the juvenile told police that he was unable to sleep properly due to his mother's habit of waking up in the middle of night and ask for tobacco which led him to explode his anger against his mother and he strangled her with a scarf (gamchha)," said Patneesh Kumar, SHO of Badalpur police station.
The officer further said that boy is mentally challenged and so was his mother. "The juvenile was produced before the juvenile justice board on Monday which is yet to take a decision but he has been taken to judicial custody," added Kumar. The child welfare committee has said that a mental analysis of the child will also be carried out to ensure mental stability.
Meanwhile, the child's father requested police not to arrest the juvenile as he suspect that his child would become violent and his future will get vanished. "I cannot believe that my son can kill his mother. I still suspect involvement of some other person in the incident," the father sobbed in front of police.
