Drugs worth Rs 1.25 cr seized, one arrested

NEW DELHI: The Crime Branch has busted a drug syndicate and arrested an accused identified as Satyanarayan Dubey, a resident of West Karawal Nagar, Delhi, from the Kashmiri Gate area and recovered 4 kilograms of Ketamine and 5 kilograms of Pseudo Ephedrine from his possession.

The seized Ketamine is worth Rs 1 crore in the international market and Pseudo-Ephedrine is worth Rs 25 lakh.

The accused, Satyanarayan Dubey, who was arrested on Monday belongs to Shahganj, Uttar Pradesh. He came to Delhi in 1990 and started working at a chemist shop in Bhaghirath Place. Thereafter, he worked at a pharmaceutical shop and got experience in the trade of medicine. Then he opened his own chemist shop but due to certain medical conditions, he was not able to continue his business. During his decade-long career, he got well versed with banned substances.
