DPCC chief visits riot-hit families

New Delhi: Newly appointed Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Anil Choudhary, along with vice-presidents Abhishek Dutt, Shivani Chopra, Mudit Agarwal and Ali Mehndi on Friday visited the violence-affected areas in North East Delhi and supplied relief material, consisting of essential commodities and daily use items, including grains and food items, to the families living there.

Taking stock of the situation, Kumar said, "The situation in north-east Delhi is now under control, and to extend the message of peace and brotherhood, the Congress workers have been having regular interaction with families affected by the mindless violence and supplying them relief material sent by Congress president Sonia Gandhi."

Kumar added that people should maintain peace and brotherhood as the Congress' aim was to create communal harmony and peace among all sections of people, so that they continue to live in a peaceful and cordial atmosphere like before.

"Congress will spare no effort in maintaining peace and harmony in the violence-affected areas of north-east Delhi," he added.

The leaders also visited different areas hit by violence, which included Karawal Nagar's Chand Bagh, Khajuri Khas, Mustafabad and Nehru Vihar.

They also met the families affected by the violence and enquired about their welfare. They went to the houses of the people affected by the violence and supplied them with one month's ration, including essential commodities and daily-use items.
