NEW DELHI: The Delhi police has arrested the owner of the dog who killed a man in Welcome area for throwing a stone at his pet dog. Mehtab has been arrested for murdering 30-year-old Afaaq on Sunday evening.
The accused fled after the incident and was nabbed on Tuesday.The deceased has been identified as Aafaq Ali, a tailor by profession.
"Upon enquiry, it came to the knowledge that the caller Shaukat stated that his son-in -law Aafaq (30), son of Nawab Ali, used to works as a tailor, had been shot who was brought dead in GTB hospital.
Preliminary enquiry revealed that there was a quarrel between the deceased and the accused," said Atul Thakur, DCP North East.
"I took my son-in-law in an auto to GTB hospital and on the way, he told me that he was shot my Mehtab over minor scuffle over his dog. He told me that he hit the dog with a stone and Mehtab in retaliation has shot him from behind," said Afaaq's mother in law who was passing by in the lane when she saw her son-in-law in a pool of blood.
Police said that the accused Mehtab has some criminal cases against him.
