New Delhi: A 30-year-old doctor was found dead at his rented accommodation in South East Delhi's Lajpart Nagar area.
Police said that body was lying on a mattress along side the door in decomposed condition and a cannula, injection was administered in his hand. From dustbin, empty vials of medicine were found.
Police said that they received information at 8:51 am on Tuesday that in a flat in Lajpat Nagar-l, door of the room of his friend is closed from inside and foul smell is coming. The caller Dr Rudra JR(PG) LNJP Hospital was residing along with Dr Sudhanshu Singh who was JR (PG) anesthesia, at Safdarajang Hospital in separate rooms.
"Dr Rudra had gone to his native place Goa on July 19 and arrived back early morning at 2.30 am. At about 8.00 am, Rudra noticed that room of his friend Sudanshu is locked from inside and foul smell was coming.
"Room of Dr Sudhanshu was got broke open in the presence of his sister, who had come on call from gurugram and found that his body was lying," police said. Dr Sudhanshu was the permanent resident of Mughalsarai UP and pursuing his MD in Safdarajang Hospital since 2017. He was residing at Lajpat Nagar Since May 2018.
As per enquiry from Safdarjung Hospital, Dr Sudhanshu performed his duty till Sunday morning and after that he did not turn up on Monday. Inquest proceeding u/s 174 CrPC is underway.
Police have questioned several persons in this regard to get clues regarding doctor taking extreme step. In March a 28 year-old doctor died under mysterious circumstances after she was found inside her cabin of the Neuro ward where she worked. The police claimed to have found a syringe lying next to her body and a mark on her left hand.
