Noida/Ghaziabad: In a bid to improve the security in border area and curbing the illegal activities that takes place between the two states, the senior police officials of Delhi and Uttar Pradesh police held an inter-state meeting in Radisson Blu hotel of Noida on Tuesday. Senior police officials including SSP Noida, SP city Ghaziabad and other senior police officials of Delhi police were present in the meeting.
According to a senior police official, the meeting was headed by IG range Meerut zone and joint commissioner of police eastern range and was held to discuss the measures to be taken to control crime at border areas and conduct combined policing on the borders.
"As part of the meeting, there were several points on which discussions were made including crime control, traffic management and checking at the border posts. The officials of both the states exchanged information about the crime and criminals that are wanted in various heinous crimes and carrying award on their heads. The officials also discussed how to facilitate corporation to nab these criminals," said Ajay Pal Sharma, Senior Superintendent of Police (Gautam Budh Nagar).
Officials also said that the two states will conduct combined policing on their combined borders in order to main smooth traffic on the borders.
"Personnel from two states will be present at the border area and the security will be increased to assure that criminals do not escape easily. The entry and exit points will be covered and combined patrolling will be done," said Akash Tomar, Superintendent of Police City(Ghaziabad).
Tomar further added that there will be interstate verification of the criminals released from the prisms and a list of criminals involved in heinous crimes will be interchanged between the states. "A blue print on how to curb crime will be made soon and all the officials of all the three cities will be on their toes to make sure that the crime is controlled," said Tomar.
