Delhi Govt, SDMC take preventive steps

New Delhi: In view of the impending threat due to COVID-19 and for the prevention, spread, and control of the contagious disease, the Delhi Government and South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) is now taking several measures to prevent the spread of the contagious virus.

The Delhi government which has been at the forefront to tackle the deadly virus on Monday undertook some more preventive measures. In the latest order, the operations of the gymnasiums and SPA in the national capital territory of Delhi have been suspended till March 3. The same rule also has been applied on the operations of night clubs and theatres.

After closing down the educational institutions, the weekly bazaars in the NCT have also been closed down till March 31. Moreover, any gatherings, social, cultural, political, religious, academic, sports seminar and family mass gathering except marriages has also been prohibited till March 31.

On the lines of Delhi Government, SDMC has also invoked Section 376 of the Delhi Municipal Act, 1957 in which special measures are taken for the outbreak of the epidemic.
