Over the past few years, students of the Jat community have been a prominent part of Ramjas College.
This academic session, the trend is likely to continue. "It is not that we are dominated by one community. But as our students are active in politics and sports, we are a hot favourite for the Jat community," said an official of Ramjas College.
Gaurav Yadav, a student, said: "Ramjas is one of the few colleges where professors understand that students who are from poor background and need to work menial jobs to pay fees need some slack in attendance. I have never heard that in any college but here." Tushar Dalal, another Jat student, says: "Ramjas has a lot of options for sports and since our community is good in sports."
BA (Prog), BA (Hons) Hindi and BA (Hons) Sanskrit are some of the most popular courses at Ramjas.
