Six Anganwadi workers fired over corrupt practices

Three Anganwadi centres in Krishna Nagar and Gandhi Nagar area, meant for providing meals and education to children from economically weaker sections, were found to be indulging in corrupt practices, with around 75 per cent of the children listed there not in existence.

The issue came to light after Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia made a surprise inspection of six Anganwadi centres in said areas.

He directed termination of services of six officials in the three Anganwadi centres.
