Students throng session to clear their doubts

The second day of the Delhi University admission process on Tuesday saw more students and parents attending the open house to get answers to their queries about the admission process, the cut-off calculation, sports, extracurricular activities (ECA) quota and several other issues.

"I had some question about calculating the best of four for admission to BSc (life science). I have not yet registered because I wanted to get answers to my queries first," said Rohitash Pal, an applicant, who had come all the way from Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh. Like Pal, there were many students who had queries on the certificates needed for admission under the extracurricular activities (ECA) category.

"I had received a number of the certificate in extracurricular activities but varsity admission online page allows only one certificate," Tavleen Sethi asked to which the speaker replied, "Upload the national certificate if you have one,  otherwise upload whichever holds a higher value."

Some students also wanted to know if they could change their college or subject after getting admission in a college.

"Any student can withdraw admission from a college and then take admission in another college and your fees will be adjusted automatically. But you will have to give an application for admission withdrawal and your certificates will be given back. But it will take some time for the fees to be refunded to you," said speaker.
However, again this time, unlike previous years there is no help desk with interns to help the students at the conference centre.

The university has introduced complete online admission procedure for undergraduate, unlike the previous years when it used to be both online and offline.
The registration process began at 5 pm on Monday and will continue till June 12, 5 pm.

Few applicants complained of admission portal being slow, especially between 5 pm and 6 pm but the varsity authorities maintained that they had arranged for servers.

The first cut-off list will be announced on June 20 and will release six lists. The last list will be released on July 18, 2017.
