Almost a couple of weeks after recording a resounding victory in the civic polls, the BJP claimed that the visibility of garbage in the localities coming in the jurisdition of South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) will become part of the history.
The claim was made by the Delhi BJP president Manoj Tiwari on Thursday, who inaugurated a more scientific collection and segregation mechanism of garbage. The leader flagged off a new fleet of mobile compactors and auto tippers of street level collection and transportation of garbage.
Speaking on the occasion, Tiwari stated that the SDMC, by taking a number of initiatives one after another, has been striving hard to develop Delhi as per the dreams of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The initiatives being taken by SDMC are in tune with the "Sankapl Patr" of the party which has been returned to power in the three MCD's, Tiwari said. He also appreciated the latest initiatives of the SDMC which will bring a sea change in the localities under SDMC as far as collection, transportation and disposal of garbage is concerned.
"The new mechanism adopted by SDMC after a detailed interactions with the stakeholders has provided enough sharp teeth for online management information system, Application for Customer, Care Center, Control Room, GPS, RFID , Mobile Application for Customer Biometric machine; these features were lacking in the earlier mechanism hence proper monitoring became practically impossible," he said.
The Delhi BJP chief called upon the citizens to render their co-operation in making Delhi mosquito free and improving the rank of Delhi in Swachh Bharat Mission. Tiwari, while referring to the responsibilities of the newly-elected corporators, exhorted them to have interactions with RWAs at regular intervals and meet them again and again to get their feed back in order to improve the functioning of the corporation.
SDMC Commissioner Puneet Kumar Goel described the launch of the new mechanism as a historic occasion.
"For the first time in the capital city, the segregation of the garbage at source as biodegradable, dry and hazardous waste will be done with an aim to provide a result oriented transportation and management modus-operandi. The auto tippers have been provided three separate enclosures within for the three kind of segregated waste," added Tiwari.
