Family members rushed the victim to a private hospital where he was declared brought dead.

Deceased Ishwar Tyagi was shot by his son, Dabbu at around 6:45 am when Tyagi returned home after a morning walk.

"Dabbu is suffering from a mental disorder, schizophrenia and is undergoing treatment at Vimhans Hospital, Delhi for the same. Police are exploring all the angles and we have formed three teams to nab the accused," said Akash Tomar, Superintendent of Police, Ghaziabad.

Tomar also stated that a FIR under section 302 IPC has been registered against the accused at Kavi Nagar police station.

"The accused is absconding after the incident and his mobile phone is switched off. The victim's body has now been sent for post-mortem and our investigations are on," added Tomar.
Soon after the incident, the cops visited the spot and started probing into the matter.

There were several angles through which police investigated the case and later revealed that the youngest son undergoing a mental disorder was responsible for the demise.
