New Delhi: The Delhi Development Authority on Tuesday announced that it has compulsorily retired 10 of its officials belonging to the Group-B scale in a move to "weed out dead-wood" from the organisation.
The DDA in a statement said that these gazetted and non-gazetted officials were retired under provisions of FR-56(j)/Rule 48 of the CCS (Pension) Rules of 1972. Under the same provision, the Income Tax department had just recently retired more than 22 of its officials.
Of the DDA officials who were let go, one was a Ministerial Assistant Director, one an Assistant Accounts Officer, two were Assistant Engineers (Civil), four Junior Engineers (Civil), one Assistant Section Officer and one Sectional Officer of the Horticulture department. The DDA said that these officials were allegedly found to be involved in corrupt practices and are currently facing trial or investigation in their respective cases.
The appointing authority has also accorded prosecution sanction to initiate criminal proceedings against the compulsorily retired officials.
