NEW DELHI: Taking cognizance of complaints by parents of the Bluebells School on the harassment of children regarding fee hike, the Delhi government body Delhi Commission for Protecting of Child Rights (DCPCR) sent notice to the school and also to the education department.

The body which is under the Woman and Child Development department led by Deputy CM Manish Sisodia received many complaints against the authorities. "It is ordered that the school administration shall take up matters of payment of fees or fee hike directly with guardians of students and that teaching staff and students shall not be involved in such matter so as to maintain a healthy atmosphere in school," noted the notice. The Commission also observed that recently a ceiling of classroom 7B fell down due to some issues, hence the school authority should respond on the matter.

Talking to the Millennium Post, DCPCR member Anurag Kundu said, "We have received the complaints from the parents. We think that fee-related matters should not be taken up with the children. We have sent copies of the notices to the education department too. If we see that there have been such things happening in the school then stringent action will be taken."

He added that the infrastructural complaints are also a major issue, however, the ceiling fell when the children were not there but it that cannot be an excuse.

The parents that the staff of the school continue to call parents and are intimidating them for their stand against the arbitrary fee hike. The veiled threats that such a stand will only lead suffering of the students continue unabated. This intimidation by the school staff has caused a lot of anxiety and nervousness among parents who are now fearing for safety and deprivation of apt opportunities for their children.

Earlier also, the name of the private school has come out for various allegations. In 2013, a teacher of Bluebells School International in Southeast Delhi was arrested on the charge of molesting a Class-V student.

Police identified the man as Nirmal Tamang, who taught English in the school. A case under Sections relating to molestation and wrongful confinement of the IPC and under the POCSO Act has been registered against him. Following Tamang's arrest, police claimed that five other students of the school too have complained that Tamang had molested them on various occasions.

According to police, the incident came to the fore on Monday afternoon. Police said Tamang had asked one of his Class-V students to meet him in the staff room. He then locked the room and molested her, police said.
