CYSS, AISA launch joint manifesto for DUSU polls

NEW DELHI: Chhatra Yuva Sangharsh Samiti and the All India Students' Association, which have united to contest in the Delhi University Students' Union (DUSU) Election to be held on September 12, launched their manifesto here on Saturday.

Aam Aadmi Party in-charge for East Delhi Atishi and AISA national president Suchita Dey released the joint manifesto. The event was also attended leaders of the Left-affiliated AISA and CYSS, the student wing of AAP.

Installation of CCTV cameras, setting up police booths in campus, ending the culture of hooliganism and opposing commercialisation of education are some of the key points highlighted in the manifesto.

The manifesto also promised that the alliance would work towards setting up 'Chhatra Clinics' on the lines of Delhi's mohalla clinics.

Other claims mentioned in the manifesto include facilitating driving license facility in colleges under 'Door Service', struggle for the rights of SC/ST/OBC students, and holding DU entrance examinations in English and Hindi.
