Crime Branch arrests two sharpshooters in Rohini

New Delhi: The Special Operation Squad of Crime Branch arrested two sharpshooters of Naresh Sethi- Raju Basodi gang after a brief encounter in Rohini.

Police said that they are wanted in three cases of murder and two robbery cases of Haryana.

Police said one of the arrested gangsters is carrying a reward of Rs One lakh by Haryana Police and is a parole jumper. The other is a proclaimed offender in a murder case.

The accused were identified as Ravi (25) and Rohit (27) who were nabbed from Rohini. The gang members belong to Jhajjar and Sonipat area.

This gang has recently joined hands with another gang of Delhi – the Jitender gang of Alipur.

Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Rajiv Ranjan said that the gang has been operating in Jhajjar-Bahadurgarh-Yamuna Nagar-Panipat area of Haryana and is primarily involved in contract killings, handling disputed properties and extortion in Sonipat and Jhajjar District.

The arrest was made by the team led by DCP (Crime) Joy Tirkey. The day when they were arrested both of them took out firearms and started shooting at the police party in the Rohini area. Fortunately, no one was injured.

The Crime Branch team managed to overpower the suspects after a brief chase.
