New Delhi: Two persons, including a woman, living in two separate societies of Noida, have been tested positive with Coronavirus, said health officials on Tuesday.

As per chief medical officer from Gautam Buddh Nagar, the woman is a resident of Lotus Boulevard in sector 100 of Noida and she had recently travelled from France while the other man, resident of Hyde Park in sector 78, came into contact with a senior official (a Delhi resident) of his company and got affected with the virus.

"The woman had been in isolation from past three days at Government Institute of Medical Science (GIMS) in Greater Noida after she complained of cold and fever. Her swab samples were sent for medical examination, reports of which confirmed her to be suffering with corona virus," said Dr Anurag Bhargav, Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Gautam Buddh Nagar.

The officer further said that both the patients are in their mid-twenties and their condition is stable.

"The other man who has been identified had tested positive with Coronavirus on March 16. Both the patients have been kept under

quarantine in GIMS for anti-viral therapy. We expect that they may recover soon as they are young and stable," the CMO added.

As the news spread, panic spread among the residents of society with police as well as officials of district administration rushing to take precautionary measures to ensure that the virus do not affect other people living in these societies.

As a precautionary measure, the AOA of both the societies immediately shut down all common area facilities, including clubhouse, gym, grocery shops, parlour and ATM. It also banned outside visitors.

Informing over the issue, B.N. Singh, district magistrate, Gautam Buddh Nagar said that the administration has started screening of all those living not only in these two societies but those located in one kilometer radius.

"Door to door screening of people will be done who are living in these societies. Markets have been shut and sanitisation of lifts, common area, park and other suspected places will be done by the society management. We insist people to follow guidelines and do not panic," said Singh.

It has come to light that the woman had returned directly to her home in Lotus Boulevard from France and had stayed there for a few days. Also the man who is tested positive had been living in his flat after he met the man having Coronavirus at his

company in Sector 80 on March 13.

Residents are worried given that during their stay, these patients might have came in contact with several other persons.

The Noida Authority has asked residents welfare associations to stop holding large gatherings of more than 50 people at the city's community centres to check the spread of novel Coronavirus (Covid-19). The Federation of Noida's Residents' Welfare Associations (FONRWA) has appealed to those booking wedding functions at community centres to keep their invitees to below 50 in order to fight against Coronavirus.

In a similar action, a training session was conducted on Tuesday at the Auditorium at Police Commissionerate Gautam Buddh Nagar. Police Commissioner Alok Singh presided over the training session.

Stressing on personal cleanliness, Singh said that we should keep the office, vehicle clean and use sanitizer both at home and office.

"We should also ask visitors to use sanitizer. The next 15 days were crucial and we must exercise self-restraint and be vigilant against hoarding or black marketing of masks and sanitisers," Singh told police officers.

During the training session, demonstration was made with Hazmet suits and medical kits also distributed among police officers.

Apart from this, the local intelligence unit (LIU) of Noida police have also decided to keep the record of all people who have recently travelled back to India.

Officials said that they are getting details with the immigration department and will forward details to health department who will check the risk of the being effected with the virus.
