New Delhi: Holding the government at the Centre responsible for the economic slump and lock-outs, Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC), started its "HallaBol" agitation. The protest entered the second day on Sunday. Demonstrations were held at Mehrauli and Badarpur in South Delhi in which a Congress workers and local people participated.
Addressing the rally, DPCC president Subhash Chopra said, "Modi government's dream of taking the country to a 5 trillion dollar economy was yet another jumla to fool the people."
He said that not only the poor people who are the worst affected by the economic slump, but also the middle class and the farmers.
Speaking on numerous issues like Goods and Services Tax and economy Subhash said, "GST rate has broken the back of the poor and the
middle class. They said that the purchasing power of the common people has come to a virtual naught, and the soaring prices of essential goods, including vegetables, have made the lives of the people miserable."
