CM Yogi pushes smart city for Noida, Greater Noida; home buyers' in focus

Greater Noida: In the first time that an Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister chaired a review meeting of all three authorities of Gautam Buddh Nagar district - NOIDA, GNIDA and YEIDA, which was held at the GNIDA office on Friday at 5 pm.

The meeting, attended by top officials including the CM's media advisor, ADG and IG rank police officers, Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary (Industrial Development), Secretary rank officials from the administration, SSP and District Magistrate of Gautam Buddh Nagar along with the MP and MLAs of the area.

With increasing outrage over builder irregularities in Noida and Greater Noida, the UP CM took a meeting of builders' respresentatives. The CM while reviewing the work of all three authorities instructed officials to find a quick resolution to the problem.

Before this, CM Adityanath faced protests from thousands of buyers with their demand for a resolution. Some buyers went on to say that their investments have been stuck for more than 10 years, while authorities seem to have turned a blind eye to the entire issue.

Taking note of development issues in the three authorities adjoining the capital area, Yogi Adityanath asked all these authorities to focus on the overall development of the region, especially along the lines of smart cities. He also said that development in the area should concentrate on the rural population and make sure that whatever programmes and schemes are approved, do not hamper their progress as a result.

In fact, CM Adityanath said that local youth in the area should get first priority when it comes to bringing employment in the region. "It will not be proper to develop areas ignoring the aspirations of local youth," Adityanath said adding that the development of areas should ensure improved standard of living for locals.

The CM said that district administration should ensure skills development of youth as per the job requirement in that area. "I am not suggesting to employ the unqualified but we can always help the youth acquire required skills and then employ them," he said.

The chief minister said people entering in Noida, Greater Noida and Yamuna Expressway areas should feel a positive change in these areas. The immediate need is to improve traffic situation, waste disposal and general safety.

Bringing the Integrated Traffic Management System and all necessary security measures in the area was also discussed.

"Well kept parks, functioning public gyms build perceptions about a city being developed," he said. Considering the request of the three authorities, the CM added that the state government will extend all possible support for them to recruit employees against the vacancies.

In addition to talking about ways the authorities can bring down costs and considerably increase their income, Adityanath also spoke about bringing public interest development projects in the Hindon river bank land area.
