Child rescued within 14 hrs of kidnapping from Ggn

New Delhi: Delhi Police on Tuesday claimed that it has rescued a six-year-old boy within 14 hours of kidnapping. The police said that the incident was reported on June 30 through a PCR call.

Immediately, the caller who lives in Kirari was contacted and it revealed that a person named Shashikant was living as a tenant in his neighbourhood with his wife in Prem Nagar-I, Kirari, Delhi.

"The nephew of the complainant was also residing in the same building. About two months back, Shashikant's wife fled with the complainant's nephew and since then they are not traceable," said Additional DCP (Outer) Rajendra Singh Sagar.

He further claimed that after the incident, Shashikant left the rented house and shifted to some unknown place.

On the day of the incident, Shashikant came to the house of the complainant and he is suspected to have kidnapped the child, the son of the complainant as he was threatening the complainant to give clues about the whereabouts of his wife otherwise he will face dire consequences.

At about 1.00 am in the intervening night of 30 June and 1 July, the location of the accused's mobile was traced near Dronacharya Metro Station in Gurugram, Haryana.

Shashikant was nabbed from a rented house in Sikanderpur in Gurugram. During the interrogation, he revealed that his wife had an extramarital affair with the complainant's 20-year-old nephew and the accused believed that the complainant had the information about their whereabouts.
