New Delhi: Crime Branch of Delhi Police continued their investigation on Thursday in the case after they rescued the five-year-old child from Ghaziabad as they questioned a woman regarding the incident. Police sources claimed that they would reconstruct the sequence of the events leading to the rescue of the child.
Police sources told Millennium Post that the woman herself joined the probe on Thursday. She will also be questioned on Friday. "She came very late on Thursday so we were not able to ask many questions and she left in the evening," said a police source. The woman was asked about her profile and whether she was connected with the accused. Police sources added that her questioning is crucial in the case.
Reports were coming that a woman used to visit the flat where the child was kept but the police officer claimed that during interrogation the accused claimed that no one visited the flat. "The accused testimony is being verified and after the investigation we can come up with some outcome," said an investigator.
An investigator also claimed that they would reconstruct the sequence of events in future to get more clarity in the case. Police claimed that on January 25, three accused kidnapped the child from Shahdara area. During the bid, the accused shot the driver of the bus and took away the child. "Their interrogation revealed that the accused had planned the shooting earlier as they had suspected that the driver can follow him," said an investigator.
The minor kid was safely rescued from a flat in Ghaziabad area after a gun battle with the three kidnappers. Police sources told Millennium Post that one of the accused Nitin who was running a small eatery had come to pick up materials for his shop from the boy's father. At this juncture, he hatched an elaborate plot with his friend Pankaj to kidnap the five-year-old. "They understood that the boy's family was in a position to cough up Rs 60 lakh by way of ransom," said the source.
