Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Tuesday formally inaugurated the second phase of Rapid Metro. The Chief Minister also used the formal launch as an occasion for women empowerment.
In a great symbolic gesture, the Chief Minister took a forty minutes ride with the slum children and women village head in the Metro train.
The Chief Minister also held discussion with the women village head over steps to empower women in the city as well as in the state.
"Flagged off the first train of newly constructed Rapid Metro from Sikanderpur to Sector 55-56 in Gurugram. The total cost of the project is 2143 crores,"commented Chief Minister ML Khattar.
"Joined slum children in their first metro ride after inaugurating the new rapid metro- south extension in Gurugram," Chief Minister further added
On his visit to Gurugram, the Chief Minister also launched a campaign, "Haryana Vision zero "an initiative for road safety in Haryana.
Highlighting that road safety was an important priority for his Government; Chief Minister stated that good roads are being laid in the state.
