NEW DELHI: Delhi Police has arrested a cheat who sued to deceive innocent persons by offering them tender for removal of scrap materials. Cheated cash amounting to Rs 21.65 lakh, three mobile phones and five tender forms have been recovered. The cheat, identified as Ashish (45), was arrested from Haridwar
The matter came to light when a victim Sachin Verma resident of Sant Nagar, Burari, Delhi reported that one person Ashish who was residing in rented accommodation in Baba Colony, Burari came to him on August 26 and told that there is a tender for removing scraps from Tis Hazari court. Ashish further lured the complainant that an amount of Rs 8.80 lakh will be required for the said tender and complainant can easily earn a monthly profit of approximately Rs 1 lakh. Later, on the assurance given by the accused, the complainant deposited Rs10,000 as security to which the alleged gave him the receipt of Rs. 10,000 on Whatsapp.
