New Delhi: CCTV footages, deceased's phone location and dent mark on the on the back bumper of the car with the help of three essential parts of investigation has helped the city police to crack the murder case of a former IAF wing commander's wife at her house in Dwarka's Sector-7 area.
The investigators told Millennium Post that after the murder, the accused identified as Dinesh Dixit, fled away with the deceased's mobile phones. One of the phones was switched on after the murder.
"The Google map timeline showed the deceased phones was somewhere towards Gurugram in the morning.
The CCTV footage from the toll gates of Kherki Dhaula was analyzed. The suspected vehicle was seen crossing the toll gates towards Jaipur, Rajasthan in the morning," said the investigator.
A joint team of Dwarka South police station and Special Staff was formed under the supervision of Rajinder Singh, ACP (Dwarka). "At Gurugram we checked several areas, malls to ascertain the presence of accused," police said.
At the society, the entry and exit of the vehicle were seen from the front gate on Thursday afternoon. Later, the vehicle again entered the society at around 9:15 pm and the car left the complex on Friday morning at around 5:21 am. Investigations revealed that the vehicle had a fake number plate.
"We started scanning the CCTV footage and found that a few days ago, the same car had come with the original number plate," an investigator told.
The Special Staff team under Inspector Naveen Kumar comprising of Sub Inspector Arvind started raiding different places.
"We had learnt about the accused so we started checking the vehicles which were previously used by Dixit to ascertain his Jaipur connection. Later, we found one car with the registration number of Rajasthan," added police officer.
The car on which the accused had come to the society had a dent mark on the back bumper.
"The Dixit's car which was registered in Rajasthan had same dent mark. The investigation in the case revealed that it was the same car," police said.
The team raided in Sikar in Rajasthan. With door to door survey, the vehicle was seen parking near Skyway Apartment in Kedia Road, Jaipur.
Later he was nabbed. Jewellery worth 50 Lakhs were recovered from the accused.
