New Delhi: Since after the Delhi Commission for Protection of Child Rights (DCPCR) has started their initiative of rewarding the Good Samaritans for credible information regarding the child labour, they have found that calls regarding the menace have increased.
According to DCPCR, before the initiative, they used to get one to two calls on monthly basis but now they are getting three to four calls.
There is also a possibility that an NGO can be the first one to get reward regarding the credible information on child labour.
Roop Sudesh Vimal member of the child rights body confirmed the following information stating that there is a increase in the calls to commission related to child labour.
"The initiative is fruitful to us,"said Roop. The DCPCR notice accessed by Millennium Post stated that for the rescue of one child, there is a reward of Rs 1,000 whereas rescue of two-five children Rs 2,000 is the reward whereas for six to 10 children the reward increases to Rs 5,000.
"The reward for the rescue of 11 or more children is Rs 10,000," reads the notice.
According to DCPCR, in March 23, they received an information regarding child labour in Noida and with the help of other stake holders, they rescued a seven-year-old girl.
"The info was regarding child labour by a child in Noida sector 110 from a flat. We conducted raid and rescued the child,"said Roop.
He further stated that the minor girl claimed that she is the native of Bihar and did not get any salary for the work.
Recently, as many as seven children were rescued from a placement agency in South East Delhi's Govindpuri.
In another case, the Delhi Commission for Protection of Child Rights (DCPCR) rescued seven children from Momo making unit in Okhla Industrial area.
The child rights body claimed that they were being paid meager Rs 80 per day for 13 hours of work.
