Ghaziabad: A seventeen-year-old boy, student of class 10th, allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself in his head with a gun in Vijay Nagar area of Ghaziabad, police said on Thursday. Police have seized the pistol recovered from his room, however, no suicide note has been found in the incident.
According to police, the incident took place in Maharana Vihar colony in Vijay Nagar. Rohit, the son of Hansraj was found dead in his room, which is situated on the terrace, on Thursday morning. Police have also seized the mobile phone of deceased from his room. As per the family members, Rohit had dinner on Wednesday night and went to his room to sleep. On Thursday morning, when he didn't come down till late, his mother went up to see him. Upon opening the door, she found him lying in a pool of blood and a bullet shot in his head. Hearing loud cries, the neighbours also rushed to the house and immediately alerted police.
"As the information was conveyed, a police team reached the spot and took the body into custody which was sent for the postmortem. We have also recovered the country-made pistol further investigations in the case are on" said Rameshwar Singh, SHO, Vijay Nagar police station.
