Boy kidnapped as bus stopped for 15 minutes to pick last child

New Delhi: On January 25, the kidnappers got ample time to kidnap the minor as the bus in which he was travelling had stopped at one place for more than 10 minutes in the Shahdara police district area. Police sources told the Millennium Post that earlier too the accused had tried to kidnap the child but had failed. "At one time, when they tried to kidnap the boy nearby a temple, a devotee who was coming the temple found them suspicious and their motorcycle number plate also not clear. He made a PCR call but the accused had fled from the spot," said the police source. 
Sources said that the school bus after taking him from the bus stop used to stop at the last stoppage where they picked up another child but on the fateful day at the last stop the bus stopped for more than 15 minutes as they were waiting for the kid to come and in the meanwhile the accused entered the bus, shot at the driver and took the boy with them.
"During the investigation, we came to know that the kid who used to take the bus at the last stop was delayed because her father's vehicle got punctured and he was getting it repaired and that is why the child did not reach the bus stop on time," said an investigator.
The police claimed that after the kidnapping, the accused used to visit their homes frequently and also visited the lane of the victim's family where two women were dropped. "There are many things to be investigated. We are likely to make more arrests in the case," police said.
A team led by Dr Ram Gopal Naik, DCP Crime Branch, under the close supervision of Alok Kumar, Joint CP (Crime) was constituted to investigate the matter. Valuable assistance in the initial part of the investigation was provided by Dr Joy Tirkey, DCP, as well as by Ishwar Singh ACP STARS-II.
"We scanned more than 100 phone numbers to get one clue and after investigating dump data we got one phone number and through surveillance, we traced the accused," said a police official. For the police team, they worked 24 hours for some days and there were sleepless nights. "Our main concern was child should be safe and at last we did it," said Deputy Commissioner of Police (crime) G Ram

Shahadara district limits, there location and route were not detected. The accused were using several phones and the pattern of calls was
analyzed.
