New Delhi: A businessman and his son were held hostage inside a car and were thrashed by the unidentified assailants in neighboring Nuh district. The victim came from Tamil Nadu to strike a car deal after seeing an advertisement in an ecommerce website.
The Delhi Police have registered an FIR in the incident but they may transfer the case to the concerned police station where the incident took place.
According to police, the victim in the case have a business related to cars. "One day he saw an advertisement regarding the SUV car. He got in touch with the person who had posted the ad," police said adding that the seller informed the victim about the price Rs eight lakh and location, which was Nuh in Haryana.
The city police further added that he came to Delhi on August 23 with his son by flight. "Upon reaching the airport, he was instructed over the phone to board a car sent to him," police said. The complainant told police that he reached a petrol pump in Mandi Khera in Nuh.
"After few minutes, we were picked up in a white car by two persons who introduced themselves as the seller of the SUV car," complainant told police.
After travelling about five kilometres, six to seven persons entered in the car and forcefully took away their belongings and threaten them of dire consequences if they do not adhere to their demands. "Our two mobiles, one watch, one golden ring and cash Rs 10,000 and two signed bank cheque were taken by them," complainant further added.
The accused demanded more money and asked him for an online transaction of Rs 50,000.
"Out of fear, I agreed on that and called my known person in Tamil Nadu to transfer the amount," complainant said.
The accused dropped father-son duo on motorcycles in the area of Nuh. Later they alerted police. Deputy Commissioner of Police (IGI) Sanjay Bhatia said that they have started their probe in the incident and they will ake neccessary action after investigation. A case under sections 420 and 384 of IPC registered in IGI airport.
