Kuldeep, 33, a resident of Mainpuri in UP was hired by Abhishek Pratap Singh who is working as a labour contractor in Delhi. Abhishek had developed differences with his cousin Mukesh in 2011 after the two separated following a business rivalry.
Abhishek then called Kuldeep who was working with deceased Mukesh and lured him into a contract he could not refuse. Abhishek gave him a unique offer of providing him contract killing money that was Rs 15,000 per month for a period of three years. Kuldeep who was just earning hand to mouth readily accepted the contract thinking of securing his three years. Abhishek then provided a gun to Kuldeep for eliminating his cousin Mukesh. Kuldeep then started looking for a proper opportunity to strike and kill Mukesh.
On May 19 , Kuldeep struck in the morning killing Mukesh in a park near DPS school, sector 24 Rohini. The injured Mukesh was admitted in the BSA hospital by the nearby residents, where he was declared brought dead.
"CCTV cameras in the vicinity were checked, partners and co-workers of deceased Rudra Pratap Singh @ Mukesh Chauhan were interrogated, 500 workers under the deceased were interrogated at length but no specific clue was found. At last, on the basis of technical investigation, one suspect namely Kuldeep was arrested from Uttar Pradesh, who spilled the beans," said DCP Rohini, Rajneesh Gupta.
Cops said that the motive behind the murder was business rivalry between the two cousins. After the plot was revealed by Kuldeep after his arrest, Abhishek Pratap Singh was arrested too by Delhi police who has confessed to the conspiracy and murder.
