Noida: Another robbery occurred in Noida's posh sector 18 market on Wednesday afternoon in which two unidentified bike-borne assailants snatched a bag containing around Rs 8.20 lakhs from a 27-year-old accountant of a private company.
Shockingly, the snatching was done at the same place and outside the same bank where another incident was reported earlier in the month.
According to the police, the victim has been identified as Bipin Roy, an accountant with a software company EBIX Software Pvt Ltd in sector 82 of Noida. Roy was talking on phone and was waiting for cab outside the ICICI bank of sector 18. He also received minor injuries in his hand after he was pushed away by robbers as he tried to resist the robbery attempt.
The miscreants traveling on a motorcycle easily escaped from the spot after snatching the bag while Roy was waiting for his cab after withdrawing the cash from company's account.
"The incident took place at around 12:30 pm, when Roy was talking on phone and holding the cash bag in another hand. Two bike-borne criminals reached there and snatched the bag. However, when he tried to resist the attempt, he was pushed away and the criminals fled from the spot," said Arun Kumar Singh, Superintendent of Police, Noida.
Locals informed the police about the incident and senior police officials reached the spot and launched an investigation.
"We have registered a case under the relevant sections of loot and robbery. Teams have been constituted to nab the accused persons and we are inspecting the CCTV footages of the nearby areas," added Singh.
