Noida: An over-speeding auto-rickshaw driving in the wrong side jumped the red light and hit a 31-year-old woman, injuring her severely with multiple fractures in her collarbone, legs and hands.
According to police, the incident occurred outside Gate no-1 of Amrapali Silicon City residential society in Sector 76 of Noida. The auto-rickshaw driver identified as Devender Singh (22) hit the woman when she was returning home after dropping her son at Sector-76 traffic light for the school bus. The woman has been identified as Babli Singh (31), who lives with her family in Amrapali Silicon City.
As per the victim's family, they received a call at around 10 am from one of the residents of the society. The woman was immediately rushed to a nearby private hospital where the doctor stated her condition to be critical.
"The woman has suffered severe injuries in her forehead, left side of the face, left shoulder and left knee joint. She also received fracture in the left collarbone. Her face is badly injured due to the glass of the windshield getting stuck in her face. So, we call a face surgeon for the face treatment," said a senior doctor of NEO hospital in Noida's Sector-50.
An eyewitness said that the auto was overloaded with three passengers sitting on the front seat along with the driver, which made him lose control over the vehicle.
Meanwhile, the police have registered an FIR against the auto driver and have also seized the auto-rickshaw.
