new delhi: Ambedkar University on Wednesday decided to continue the existing policy of fee waiver to all students of Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Persons with Disability (PWD) categories, to a period of
one year.
"AUD has decided to continue the existing policy for a period of one year. The direct implication is that students belonging SC/ST/PwD categories will get a blanket full waiver on their fees throughout the duration of their degree, as has been the norm since 2016," the AUD Students Union said in a
statement.
The observation fee waiver was observed by a student who was applying for admissions at the university. "There was a board of meeting today where it was decided that the fee waiver policy will exist as it is for a year," Shruti a student of AUD said.
The university was caught in a controversy after it was reported that its fee waiver for scheduled caste/tribe and PwD students had been withdrawn for this session.
In fact, following this, students of the varsity had protested vehemently seeking that the decision be rolled
back.
