Assembly pays tribute to Dr BR Ambedkar

NEW DELHI: Addressing a function commemorating the 127th birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr BR Ambedkar at the Delhi Assembly, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday said Dr Ambedkar was a staunch advocate of equality and social justice. 
He added that 'Baba Saheb', as Ambedkar was popularly known, was the chief architect of the Indian constitution, which is unique in the world.
Floral tribute was also paid to Ambedkar's statue at the function, which was also attended be Assembly Speaker Ram Niwas Goel, Deputy Speaker Rakhi Bidlan, Social Welfare Minister Rajender Pal Gautam, and Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash.
Goel stated that Ambedkar will always be remembered for his contribution for upliftment of the downtrodden.
