New Delhi: Anti-encroachment activities by South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) on Sunday were undertaken on two stretches from Manohar Nagar to District Centre red-light Outer Ring road and Uttam Nagar Terminal to Dwarka More.
The drive saw the seizure of 53 vehicles, including a two-wheeler and 30 hand-pulled carts and their articles, as well as challan issued to 17 vehicles by Delhi Traffic Police.
Further, illegally extended portions of shops were demolished with bulldozers
In the drive in Najafgarh Zone from Ramphal Chowk in Palam to Brahma Apartment at Dwarka Sector-7, encroachments by different vendors and shopkeepers on both sides of road and footpaths were removed, under the supervision of the Zone officers. A stretch of 5 km of public road was cleared as a result.
Around 2,500 sq foot of encroached government road was also cleared. Officials of the Zone were accompanied by 15 civil defence personnel and 10 labourers, aided by two trucks.
