NEW DELHI: Accepting the request of the family of a young man, Ankit Saxena, killed for his alleged inter-religious affair, the Delhi government has appointed two Special Public Prosecutors to handle the case in the trial court, officials said on Friday. It is pertinent to mentioned that Photographer Saxena was murdered in West Delhi's Khyala area in February. "The government has appointed senior lawyers Rebecca Mammen John and Vishal Gosain as special public prosecutors in the Ankit Saxena murder case," an official said.

In February, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had assured Saxena's family of all possible help from the AAP government. The 23-year-old photographer was allegedly killed by family members of a woman with whom he was in a relationship. The woman's family had opposed her relationship with Saxena as the two belonged to different communities.
