New Delhi: Delhi Police on Thursday claimed that they have arrested all the six persons who were involved in beating a 16-year-old boy to death in Mukundpur area of North West Delhi on Tuesday. The accused thrashed him with wooden sticks until he died and the culprits are booked under murder section.
Police identified the accused as Nand Kishore, Raj Kishore, Triveni, Deshraj, Sant Lal and Sohan Lal. Two of them were arrested on Tuesday whereas the rest of the accused were nabbed late on Wednesday night. The accused were nabbed from Mukundpur area. Police claimed that during interrogation they claimed that the boy was thrashed inside the house and later they threw him on the street.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (North-West) Aslam Khan stated that considering the postmortem report which said cause of death was hemorrhage shock due to multiple injuries by the blunt object. "The injuries collectively were sufficient to cause death. The pattern and nature of injuries are consistent with the continuous beating for a considerable time while the hands of the deceased were tied with some ligature. We have changed the section to 302 of IPC (murder) from 304 (culpable homicide)," said the DCP. She further added that the accused did not inform the police for a period of about three hours when he was beaten continuously. On Tuesday, Asha, a resident living in Mukundpur area spotted the boy lying near her house when she woke up in the morning around 7 am on Tuesday. "He had injury marks in the backside and was wearing underwear and vest," said Asha.
Police claimed that the deceased was a juvenile and he was beaten up as he had trespassed in attempt to commit theft in a house. The family members of the 16-year-old deceased claimed that he should not have been killed instead he should have been handed to the police if he was accused.
The 16-year-old boy had come to Delhi 20 days ago and his family was planning to admit him in some classes where he can get some vocational training and the family was arranging money for this. "He wanted to learn English, also some vocational training so that he can earn some money," said deceased's grandfather.
