NEW DELHI: Delhi Police have started increasing the security in their bordering areas connecting Uttar Pradesh, few days prior to the municipal polls.
Police sources claimed that they have now maintained their vigil on the movement of more than 100 criminals whose names were shared with UP Police, during a meeting.
Police sources told Millennium Post that they have been focusing on the members of Pasonda gang, who have been moving on the motorcycle wearing black jacket, involved in several criminal incidents.
Sources further claimed that they have seen a change in the modus operandi of the criminal for the execution of the crime. The accused now purchasing two mobile phone with new SIM card in which they only talked to the associate. It has been a new trend to dodge police investigation as police cannot find dump data and also the CDR of the accused phone.
According to police, they have also made a police group in their social media application 'WhatsApp'. The member of the group is the police personnel from both states in which continuously the details of active criminals have been shared. "The coordination between the two states police is vital as sharing of information help police to curb crime," said a senior police official adding that they are in the constant touch with the UP police for the upcoming election.
Police sources claimed that they sometimes, jointly picketing with UP police in border areas to keep a tab on the criminals. While another list which was shared by UP police to Delhi Police includes the criminals who might create disturbance in the upcoming municipal election.
Earlier a meeting was held in North East Delhi in which the officers shared intelligence to check crimes committed by interstate criminals and organized gangs of auto-lifters operating in their respective areas. In earlier interstate meeting, the other issues discussed were the surveillance and verification of jail and bail release criminals.
