NEW DELHI: AAP started its work to intensify the campaign for the upcoming election. The top leaders of the party observed that AAP should increase its social media presence. CM Arvind Kejriwal has also started directly communicating with the social media team and to form the strategy on the online campaign.
"We think that social media should be strong and along with the door to door campaign, the social media campaign should also be very strong. Our top leaders are working directly with the social media teams and helping us how to put forward the political issues," said a leader.
He also said that the social media teams are regularly meeting the leaders and working on the development of the campaign. "With time we will increase our social media presence and the team is also increasing. We are also working with the Lok Sabha prabharis to understand the issue they are focusing," said a leader. The leaders also said that various leaders from other parties are in touch with the AAP and are also joining the party.
Meanwhile, party's chief spokesperson Saurabh Bharadwaj and senior party leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh said the next general elections should be conducted through ballot papers in case the EC cannot ensure 100 percent VVPATs.
He also said that the Supreme Court had in 2013 ordered the Election Commission and the Central Government to insert VVPAT in every EVM to secure the trust of voters. The Supreme Court had strictly ordered the Election Commission and the Central Government to connect every EVM to VVPAT before 2019 general elections.
