9-year-old boy raped in Ggn, two booked

Gurugram: A nine-year-old revealed to his parents that he was raped by the men in the school hostel in Pataudi. The victim said that he was sexually assaulted when he had come during the holidays. The victim's family resides in Devi Lal colony of Old Gurugram.

According to police, the victim was initially nervous and was not willing to speak however when his parents felt that there was something wrong they pestered him repeatedly that ultimately led to this chilling disclosure.

The law enforcement officials further added that the two also threatened him of being silent that further made the minor nervous. The police are now trying to find out that for how long the minor was sexually exploited.

A case was registered at Sector 9-A police station. The law enforcement has booked two people namely Vaasu and Maniram under sections 506 (criminal intimidation) and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) act of Section-6.

"We have registered the case under the relevant sections and have begun our investigations. We do not want to pressurise the child that much as he is nervous and traumatic after the incident. We will wait till he is calm and composed so that we can have a word with him," said a senior police official from Gurgram police.

Gurugram along with its counterpart Faridabad is leading in terms of sexual crimes against minors.

In 2017, 106 cases of sexual crimes against minors were reported while in 2016 the number of cases was 115. Not only sexual crimes but the law enforcement officials also have to deal with increased cases of human trafficking.
